The best beaches in Çeşme

With its magnificent coasts and beaches, Çeşme, one of Turkey’s most popular seaside resorts, is often lively. The windless, waveless, eco-friendly Blue Flag beaches of Ceşme are a favourite of sea lovers all year. Although it is inseparably linked to its neighbour Alaçatı, each has its own distinct atmosphere and beauty. The serene ambience of Çeşme may still be sensed with its stone buildings and quiet streets.

Here are some of Çeşme’s most stunning beaches – tranquil, calm, and optionally lively.

Ilıca Beach

When it comes to Çeşme, Ilıca Beach is unrivalled. You may spend time sunbathing on the beach, which spans kilometres, or you can wander by the nearby businesses. Due to the shallowness of the sea, this is a popular beach for family holidays where families with children may relax. Thermal water is the source of its constantly warm water. Its therapeutic waters are a geographical remnant from ancient times. It is believed that the hot spring water of Ilıca Beach, which has been classified as a hot spring beach, helps in the treatment of a variety of diseases. It is also said that water has a beautifying and healthy-looking effect on the skin. Along with the hotels around the beach, cafés, entertainment centres, and restaurants contribute to the vibrant atmosphere of this area.

Check out the hotels around Ilıca Beach if you want to spend your vacation close to the centre of Çeşme.

Altınkum Beach

Altınkum is well-known for its calm waters and beautiful beaches. Its name comes from its golden sands. The beach is 500 meters long and 15 meters wide beach, and a 25-minute (19-kilometre) drive from the centre of Çeşme via the İzmir-Çeşme highway. Its shallow sea progressively deepens and is clear, with various shades of blue. The sea is so clear that you can see the colourful fish swimming alongside you. This feature also draws the attention of those who want to dive. Due to the lack of wind, it is the smoothest sea in the region. Although its calm waters make it a popular choice for beginner swimmers and families with children, it is a destination that can meet every demand, thanks to its developing tourism opportunities.

Diamond Beach (Pırlanta Plajı)

Diamond Beach, located 24 kilometres from the city of Çeşme, can also be reached in 25 minutes by car. The glittering waters, according to their name, are always clean. Despite its proximity to Çeşme, it maintains its tranquillity. You can relax while swimming in the clean waters of the beach, which is surrounded by pine forests. Since it is a forested area, it is ideal for tent and caravan camping. You may also take a stroll around Pırlanta Beach on a track.

Hacettepe Bay

The place, previously known as Sera Bay, is one of the most tranquil in Çeşme. Its sandy beach and smooth, shallow seas are breath-taking. Hacettepe Bay, which is especially popular with boaters, features two distinct sunbed areas: sandy and grassy. With its warm and clear waters, it is one of the best spots to spend a relaxing vacation.

Sakızlıkoy Beach

Sakızlıköy, located in the north of the peninsula, is one of the public beaches. It is a safe place for those who want to enjoy the sea away from the crowds and bustle. Despite the businesses and diversity that surround it, it has a peaceful atmosphere. It features a clean, clear, and somewhat cool sea. It is not just a little beach, but it is also suitable for water sports. Let’s not forget about the breath-taking scenery. Spend a pleasant summer evening at the restaurants around Sakızlıköy, where you may taste the delicious Aegean cuisine. Don’t leave Sakızlıköy without trying the famous black salsify (sakız otu).

Cleopatra Bay

Cleopatra Bay, which is protected from strong winds and waves by cliffs on both sides, is one of the most natural areas in Çeşme. The rock formations, in particular, are fascinating. The bay area, also known as Sığacık Beach, has a remarkable natural beauty with its tranquil seas and fine sand. Snorkelling in the sea, which also offers undersea treasures, allows you to make fantastic discoveries in the underwater world. Cleopatra Bay is also a popular destination for boat tours. By doing nature hikes in this area, you may stumble across another untouched cove when you least expect it.

Şifne

Aside from its clear seas and clean beach, Şifne is a popular destination due to its thermal hotels and spa possibilities. It is believed that its rich mineral waters beautify the skin and are effective in the treatment of a variety of diseases. You should certainly check out Şifne’s famed mud baths and pools. It is easy to have a good time, especially in the pool. When you leave here, you will feel renewed in every manner. When you leave your exhaustion behind in Şifne, renowned as Ceşme’s health and healing point, you may conclude your day with a great meal at a delicious fish restaurant.
