Breath-taking Cable Car Views in Türkiye from East to West

türkiyedeki teleferik noktaları

Whether your dream is to take a pleasant break alone or to enjoy the view with your special someone ,we have great suggestions for you among the cable car lines in Türkiye! If you’re ready to take a trip off the ground, let’s explore these nostalgic and magical lines together!

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of cable cars? Do you remember a snow-capped mountain or an expansive city view? Whether you have nostalgic memories, or use a cable car as a means of transportation, we can all agree that cable cars have their charms. Happily, there are many cable car views in Türkiye offering a rich selection from which to choose.
We will list the cable cars and their breath-taking views in Türkiye from which you can choose. Then, all you have left to do is to hit the road!

  1. Uludağ and Bursa

Bursa, also called Yeşil Bursa (Green Bursa), is a cultural treasure known for its lush nature and historical riches. One of the most visited nearby areas is undoubtedly Uludağ. Türkiye’s longest cable car has a special place in visitors and residents of Bursa’s hearts. The cable car has four stations in total. It is possible to travel by purchasing a digital ticket from the Teferrüç stop which is closest to the Bursa city centre.
Türkiye’s longest cable car line also has online ticketing facilities. We recommend you choose online tickets because of the popularity of this area, especially in winter. Ending at Uludağ, the line reaches Sarıalan station and then stops in the hotel area in about a half an hour. If you want to ski, you need to continue to the hotel area. However, if you just want a little scenery and fresh air, you can complete your journey at the Sarıalan stop.

2. Tahtalı Mountain, Antalya
Are you ready for a pleasant journey to Tahtalı Mountain in Antalya’s Kemer district, where treasures are hidden around every corner? The journey only takes about ten minutes from the sub-station, which is located at an altitude of 726 meters, to the summit station, at an altitude of 2,365 meters. The capacity of each of the two cabins, is approximately 80 people, and they are in high demand, especially during peak season.
The magnificent panoramic view of the Mediterranean awaits you at the end of the highest cable car journey in Türkiye. Here you can view the mountains and the sea at the same time. The western leg of the Lycian Way passes over Tahtalı Mountain, where there are many historical ruins to explore. You can take a peaceful break on the viewing terrace or spend time in special trekking areas to discover amazing traces of history.

3. Pierre Loti Hill, İstanbul
Some venues have a unique indescribable romanticism. Pierre Loti Hill is among the places where this magic is intensely felt. When you reach the top of this delightful hill by cable car you can see the Golden Horn in all its glory. The ride is just as pleasant as the view!
Those who say that every rose has a thorn must be telling the truth because Pierre Loti is unfortunately often crowded regardless of time of day. You can try your luck before 11:00 in the morning during the week to enjoy this pleasant view at a quieter time. The total journey time of this line, which runs between Eyüp and Pierre Loti, is only around three minutes. You can take your time at the top before your decent.

Located in İzmir the Balçova cable car offers unique views due to its location in the forest. We can say that the cable car is perfect for enjoying this pleasant landscape. The ride starts from Balçova and goes to the summit of Dede Mountain, it runs six days a week, Tuesday through Sunday.
You can buy an İzmirim Card from the cable car station or purchase tickets online. This journey, which has a travel time of 2 minutes and 42 seconds, will take you to the summit where there are viewing terraces, walking paths and cafes. At the summit, there is a viewing terrace with a panoramic view of the Gulf of İzmir as well as another observation terrace with a view of the lake. You will be enchanted with the beauty at both of these spots, don’t miss either of them.
