Barcelona or Paris, which is Your City?

yurt dışı tur barcelona

Do you want to go to a city where you can feel European culture in its most intense form, or should there be a Mediterranean breeze in the city you want to visit? On the one hand, Paris is the art capital of Europe, and on the other, Barcelona’s warm atmosphere makes it one of the most inviting cities on the continent. Whichever you prefer, do not decide without reading this article where we compare the best attributes of each city!

When it comes to traveling abroad Barcelona and Paris are two of the most frequented destinations for tourists. Although both cities are very important for world history, they are superior to each other in some respects. Your expectations of a city, and more importantly, from a holiday, come to the forefront when choosing a destination. If your choice is Barcelona, you may need a guide so you don’t miss seeing all the city sites! And it not possible to return from Paris having seen everything. Here is a guide to help you in both cities!

1. Places to Visit

Of course, there are many places to visit and see in both cities other than those listed in the table above, for example, Paris’ Luxembourg Garden and Sainte-Chapelle, or Barcelona’s Las Ramblas Street and the Museum of Catalonian Art (MNAC). What you see in the table above are just some of the most well-known destinations in each city.

1.1. How many days for a visit to Barcelona?

While Barcelona has many places to visit, a well-planned three-day trip will be enough to see the highlights of the city. You can visit the Mercado de la Boqueria market which has an entrance on Las Ramblas Street, and Gaudi’s unique work, the Casa Mila building. However, if you want to explore the city and learn more about the history of Catalonia further, it is best to plan a longer trip!

1.2. How many days to visit Paris?

Paris is a city that stands out with its famous art museums and architectural wonders. For this reason, a period of six or seven days may not even be enough for you to see everything that you had planned on your Paris tour. However, three or four days may be enough just to see the highlights and enter famous museums and tourist spots.

2. Culinary Richness

What do you prefer for breakfast? Is a coffee and a croissant enough, or do you want a table full of breakfast options, like you are used to in Türkiye? Although these two cities offer you different breakfast options, they both have their place, and we think it should be tried!

2.1. What to Eat in Barcelona?

When you ask travellers, “What food is famous in Barcelona?”, the answer you will get is tapas. Tapas are snack sized appetizers made from many different varieties of meats and vegetables, and they are easy to find all over Barcelona. However, tapas are not the only answer to the question of what to eat in Barcelona, paella is another dish you should try. Paella is rice with seafood and spices; it just may be your favourite food in Barcelona!

2.2. What to Eat in Paris?

When we think of Parisian food we rightly think of pastries. Paris stands out with its practical and quick breakfasts and has made a name for itself with its delicious croissants. If you would like to try Paris’ famous onion soup, you will realize that the soup is not only a starter. If you have room left in your stomach, don’t leave the table without trying the Parisian roast beef!

3. Nightlife

When it comes to details about Paris and Barcelona, the nightlife is among the topics of interest of many travellers. Let’s see, what will these two cities offer you in terms of entertainment?

3.1. Nightlife in Barcelona

Barcelona, a favourite holiday and cultural centre of Europe, is certainly not deprived of nightlife! You only need to decide on the type of nightlife that best suits your interest. You can choose from Latin dance clubs, classical nightclubs, and quiet bars according to your preference.

3.2. Nightlife in Paris

Nightlife in Paris can be more intense than in Barcelona. There is an entertainment venue on almost every corner in Paris. However, with the logic in Türkiye, if you go to these places on the weekend, you may be dissatisfied. Generally, people rest on weekends and places do not open, however, it is still possible to find many places to visit according to your preference.

4. Activity Facilities for Children

Of course, you do not want your child to be bored while you are touring. Both cities offer you different child-friendly alternatives in this regard.

4.1. Activities with Children in Barcelona

All parks, especially Park Güell, which we have listed in our Barcelona travel suggestions, offer playgrounds suitable for children. There are 149 parks and over 500 playgrounds in the city. Moreover, these parks include historical, theme, and nature parks.

5. Flight Ticket Prices

Whether you are looking for an Istanbul-Barcelona flight ticket or an Istanbul-Paris ticket, ticket prices vary according to the festival schedule or event calendar of your chosen city.
