Halicarnassus Mausoleum and Worth-to-See Structures
The Mausoleum, the tomb of the King Mausolos of Caria, is considered one of the seven wonders of the world. The monumental tomb, built by the Queen Artemisia II at the centre of Halicarnassus and one-of-a-kind that time, caused all the similar structures that emerged in the next period to be called mausoleum. The ruins of the mausoleum, which was majorly destroyed by the Anatolian earthquake, are exhibited in the outdoor museum. Diğer önemli tarihi yapıların başında Antik Tiyatro geliyor. Another important historical building is the Ancient Theater. Hosting concerts today, the ancient theatre is one of the oldest theatres in Anatolia. Myndos Gate, one of the entrance gates to the west of the ancient city, and Bodrum Shipyard, which is supposed to have been established in 1775 and today serves as an art gallery, are other worth-seeing places.
